Name: Getting started with environmental management in viticulture - Research to Practice®
Description: A workshop to assist wine grape growers improve their environmental management through the use of an environmental assessment tool.
Cost: After NSW Government subsidy, $290 incl. GST.
Course aims: To improve awareness of environmental management in viticulture by using a risk assessment tool and developing customised environmental plans.
Learning outcomes:
  • Explain what environmental management is, and why it is needed in the wine grape industry
  • Use the Viticulture Environmental Assessment tool (VERA)
  • Explain the components of VERA and how these are linked to environmental management and environmental management systems
  • Define the environmental context and scope of a business
  • Identify and assess environmental risks of a business
  • Prioritise environmental risks in a business
  • Develop a simple environmental action plan
  • Identify the importance of reviewing and improving environmental management systems

  • Applying the VERA environmental assessment tool - how to use it
  • Applying the VERA environmental assessment tool - practice
  • Environmental Action Plans
Resources and method of delivery: Participants receive a course manual.

This course is delivered indoors.

Accreditation: This is an industry-based non accredited course.
