Name: Wine grape quality management - Research to Practice®
Description: A workshop to assist growers to identify the factors contributing to wine grape quality and how these might be manipulated
Cost: This course is costed at $444, but after subsidies provided by the NSW Government, NSW producers pay only $230.
Course aims: To demonstrate the factors that contribute to wine grape quality and investigate how they can be measured, monitored and manipulated
Learning outcomes:
  • Describe specifications for wine grape quality
  • Explain vine balance
  • Understand and describe wine grape berry development
  • Explain the impacts of sugar, acidity and pH and discuss how these may be manipulated in the vineyard
  • Discuss quality-related substances found in grapes and suggest how management practices can influence their expression
  • Discuss colour and aroma in grapes and suggest how management strategies may be employed in order to influence thse and help meet product specifications
