Name: Bore pump and river pump maintenance
Description: How to maintain bore and river pumps
Cost: This course is costed at $671, but after subsidies provided by the NSW Government, NSW producers pay only $500.
Course aim:

To assist participants to develop basic skills in bore and river pump maintenance

Learning outcomes:
  • Identify and manage OH&S hazards
  • Perform basic pump maintenance 
  • Identify correct pump performance and pumping problems 
  • Carry out repairs as necessary 
  • Implement a preventative maintenance program 
Length: 1½ days
Course program/structure:

Day 1:

  • Safe working procedures around pump sites
  • Basic maintenance
  • Understanding pump performance
  • Identifying pumping problems
  • Developing a problem-solving checklist

Day 2:

  • Carrying out basic repairs
  • Preventative maintenance programs
  • Documenting pumping unit specifications, maintenance and repairs
Resources and method of delivery:

Participants receive course training notes.

This course is delivered using indoor and outdoor instruction.

Accreditation: This is a non-accredited course.
