Course details

Name: Forklift licence preparation
Description: A course to prepare participants for assessment for a WorkCover forklift licence.
Cost: After NSW Government subsidy, $355 GST-free.
Includes vehicle supply and PPE.
Course aims:
  • Follow OHS procedures and effectively manage hazards.
  • Conduct routine checks and follow correct procedures.
  • Operate forklift and shift loads safely and efficiently.
Learning outcomes:
  • Check forklift condition.
  • Drive a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Operate according to site conditions.
  • Monitor and maintain forklift performance.
Length: 1 day
Course program/structure:
  • Design of forklifts and SWL requirements
  • Pre-operational checks
  • Safe operation of forklifts
  • Lifting loads and calculations required
  • Using attachments and slinging loads
  • Operate forklifts and shift loads
Resources and method of delivery:

Participants receive course training materials.

This course is delivered using indoor and outdoor instruction.

Accreditation: This course is mapped to the national unit of competency TDTD1097A - Operate a forklift.
