Name: StockPlan® 3 days
Description: A course for graziers and agribusiness advisors interested in developing their drought management skills.
Cost: After NSW Government subsidy, $425 GST-free.
Includes a copy of the Decision Support Tools and StockPlan Resources CD, StockPlan User Manual plus the StockPlan Producer Manual and Home Study Guide.
Course aim

To assist producers and advisors develop flexible drought management plans. 

Learning outcomes:
  • Describe and review your drought experiences
  • Identify climate patterns that increase the likelihood of drought and dry spells 
  • Complete a feeding exercise using Drought Pack software
  • Identify key factors in managing risk and drought planning
  • Develop a drought management plan for your business
  • Operate decision support tools and software
  • Map farm resources
  • Develop sustainable land and water use strategies
  • Maintain animal welfare in drought
  • Review your drought management plan
  • Manage financial risk in drought
  • Maintain family health and well-being
Length: 3 days

  • Overview of StockPlan
  • Decision support software
  • Key risk factors
  • Development of drought plans
  • Evaluation of drought plans
Resources and method of delivery:

Participants receive a StockPlan manual and CD-ROM.

This course is delivered indoors.

External study option:

This option, which will include a home study guide, will be available in late 2006.
