SMARTtrain® chemical safety (Level 2)

Course details

Name: SMARTtrain chemical safety (Level 2)
Description: This course enables participants to meet the minimum requirements for training commercial users of pesticides and the requirements for using hazardous substances.
Cost: After NSW Government subsidy, $255 GST-free.
Includes SMARTtrain® card issue.
Course aims:
  • To assist participants to use chemicals safely in the workplace.
  • To met the minimum legal requirements for training commercial users of pesticides as specified in the NSW Pesticides Act 1999.
  • To meet the requirements for training those using and exposed to substances that are classified as hazardous substances under the NSW OHS Regulation 2001.
Learning outcomes:
  • Check and maintain application and personal protective equipment under supervision.
  • Describe how to use application and personal protective equipment.
  • Identify conditions for safely and effectively applying chemicals.
  • Determine how to empty and clean equipment and containets.
  • Complete chemical records.
  • Determine how to transport, handle and store chemicals safely.

This course is delivered indoors.

Accreditation: This course is mapped to the following national units of competency, RTC2701A - Follow OHS procedures and RTC2706A - Apply chemicals under supervision.
